Your business, like many others, relies on IT working effectively and without interruption. The 2024 government survey suggests that 50% of businesses had a cyber incident in the last year. With Professional Indemnity Insurance policies increasingly excluding all but third-party cyber cover, this could leave you vulnerable to sourcing experts at emergency charge out rates to sort out the problem. We would advise you to buy a stand-alone cyber policy - the business interruption, loss of reputation and client trust from an incident are difficult to quantify and can be more swiftly mitigated with expert help.
A Cyber policy can provide 24/7 Data Breach Incident Support to help you identify and rectify the breach, notify the Information Commissioner's Office in time, and meet the costs of business interruption. It can include cover for loss of the firm’s own funds from crime. Newer products also provide a thorough test of your firm’s systems, highlighting key security actions to take.
For advice about your unique circumstances, contact our dedicated Cyber Insurance Consultant Colin Fox. Ntegrity is a professional indemnity insurance specialist broker.
